The Chancellor has set out a package of temporary, timely and targeted measures to support public services, people and businesses throughout this period of disruption caused by COVID-19.
This funding is being made available to help small, rural, retail, leisure and hospitality businesses with their ongoing business costs in recognition of the disruption caused by COVID-19.
Who will receive the funding?
The person who will receive the grant is the person who (according to the billing records) was the ratepayer in respect of the property on the 11 March 2020.
Rate relief shall not be awarded in any circumstances where it appears that an award will result in the ratepayer receiving state aid that is above the current de minimus level of €800,000 aid in a three year period (consisting of the current financial year and the two previous financial years).
Please note – Any business caught falsifying their records to gain additional grant money will face prosecution and any funding issued will be subject to claw back.
